Stages Dance Show 2017
On Saturday 25th February 36 BDS dancers performed in two routines in the Stages dance show at the Colston Hall.
The year 7s, 8s and 9s performed a contemporary routine about Shadows. The choreography included pair work to show a similar kind of theme to that seen in Peter Pan where he tries to lose his shadow. The music also suggested that the shadow represents mistakes that want to be forgotten. The dancers all looked very professional in their modern ballet dresses and performed the piece brilliantly.
The year 10s, 11s and Ashley Brookman performed a musical theatre routine to a mix of Hairspray songs (you can’t stop the beat, nicest kids in town, run ‘n’ tell that, welcome to the 60s). The dancers really got into the spirit of Hairspray and performed the high-energy routine with lots of bounce.
A massive Well Done to our BDS performers and all dancers who perform in Stages, the high standard each year just seems to get stronger and stronger.
